I really want a big red switch to kill flash player. Linux flash player is far too crashy, and big red switches are very awesome. Possibly only surpassed by big red switches with big red lights. That glow.

It worked!! I put the zooming interface back in. Hooray for open source software!

I may have found a solution to kubuntu being excessively nerfed. As it turns out, it looks like the patch to kill the zooming interface is pretty minimal. Sometime I think I'll take a shot at killing the patch and rebuilding the package. I started looking into returning to Gentoo, and I think I would probably want a faster computer before returning to Gentoo. It's loads more fun to play with than *ubuntu, but 'dem compile times can get pretty long.

Well, looks like someone else already filed the bug report on *ubuntu breaking KDE's zooming interface. I went ahead and added a comment supporting fixing it, but it looks like the bug is currently marked as something they aren't going to un-break for Interpid. Keep watch here. I might be going back off the deep end and grabbing me some Gentoo to re-take control of my computer.

I may have to leave ubuntu. It looks like the zooming interface for kde4 got killed in ubuntu for being too confusing. It seems like something cool that I'd like to play with. I guess I have to decide if I want to head back to gentoo where everything is as you decide it will be, but with much effort, switch to openSUSE, although I'm not sure of their package manager, kill the ubuntu patch and recompile the relevent package myself, or start filing bug reports that they broke kde.

Well, I'm about to enter the shallow areas of the deep end. LaTeX document class hacking, and I do mean hack and kludge to put in the title page the math department is looking for.

This past Saturday I made it in and out of Dwinelle without getting lost in the maze. Hooray, I still remember where the bathrooms are in that thing.

It looks like KDE 4.1 tries to make use of my somewhat damaged video card, resulting in random hard crashes. It was tolerable when the problem only popped up in windows, but it looks like I'll have to put in some kind of ultra hight tech umm.... AGP 4x card into the ol' computer.

KDE 4.1 does kick ass when the video card is not taking down the whole computer.
